First proper race of the season, and it was certainly a wake up! There's nothing quite like racing to really show you where you stand with regards to fitness. The course was a typical Thetford MTB course, flat, very fast, and (believe it or not) dry! It was a real pleasure to get back home and not have to clean pounds of dried on mud off the bike, and instead just give it a wipe down and put it away.

Just a short one to show off the bikes I'm going to be racing and training on this year. As I'm not lucky enough to have picked up a bike sponsor this year, I will be racing on wholly personally bought bikes, the choice of which are predominantly 650B and illustrated after the break...

Im currently writing this from the Ergonomics laboratory on campus where I'm wearing a pair of hot water trousers with a rectal thermometer up my bum. Its not some kind of bizarre sex thing, I'm actually participating in a research project looking at temperature drop in muscles - an extension to the Adidas project that helped the UK to a massive medal haul at the last Olympics!

Aside from what I'm currently doing, a fair bit has gone on since my last update.
